2001-05: an Earthly Odyssey VII to XII

VII. I WISH I HAD A BLUE GUITAR

I wish I had a blue guitar
For every mile I walked
No devil

Move my guitar to the sea
Carry the disease
Moving scenes out to the sea

Walk to the end of the land
End of dreams - strange land
Holding strange hands

VIII. THE EVERLASTING BEING

I once walked to the top
Of the highest mountain I ever saw

I stopped for water on my way
An egg-plant faced gnome
Would show and say
“Don’t drink tomorrow what you can drink today”

With the years then I found out
Good booze is never worse than after-shave
You can pour rum safely on your face
But you can’t drink after-shave
Therefore, having to choose – said to myself
I’ll always choose aƱejo seven years

And the Eagle from the highest airless peak
Came to rip my flesh and smell my blood
And my blood turned against me
And I turned against my blood
And I lived for thirteen years
Each of my seven lives
And got sick of me
Threw me out
To the Air

IX. IN BED

Now I’m an old man
In bed before sleep
Wonder how I even breathe

Drift my mind on how I’m small
Infinitely none
Lost on Earth - no Peace of mind

Rocketly we flow
No direction home
And I’m one among the stars

Cannot seek my way
No more I’ll sit and pray
To make my day – Beauty

Shines in the Useless
Pours from the power
Of a virgin Venus Moon

X. SPIRITS

We never one on Earth
We never alone
Bring you the sound of the Past
We never alone

XI. SPIRITS #2

We never one on Earth
And we never walk you alone

We never come home
We who lost our home
To let you build yourself a Dome
We’ll stand beside you

And you will never walk alone
Though you will feel more alone
Than you ever knew about
The emptiness of shadows

And we, we never walk You alone
On the rocks and ‘cross some rivers
Where herons come to build a nest
You will never rest alone

Through the desert of words
To the liberation of nothing
At the top of obsession
You will never be alone

And we shall witness your mistakes
And we shall cry – let you go wrong
To hold your hands just by the time
You realize – it’s taken long

A resting mist has slept
Upon your salty aging eyes
Travelling foolish
In love with a promise
And a melody in vain
Close your eyes now
Keep the pace
Of Peace
Mind
No

XII. MOTHERS AT SEA

Mothers with Muerte
In their eyes – I’m still alive
Nothing would then change

I have seen so many
Many scenes have I
Played out – on Time, Ma’

Keeping secrets
Burning sea like fuel - Heart
Sorrow stream for all – Nothing
